The Pix from the Woodstock Museum ...

My Story:  I was working at the Majestic Hotel in So Fallsburgh in 69.  I'd visit my Mom at the Capitol Inn weekly ... she did my laundry and fed me the only good meal I'd eat all week.  My old friend Stuie Levine was working with me, and we heard about a big concert, and (like morons) we actually bought tickets for all 3 days.

During that summer, we went to lots of concerts in the area, most notably, all 4 shows of Ten Years After at the Breezy Corners casino!  Yes, that's true!  We all watched the guys walk on the moon from the tiny TV in the Majestic Hotel lobby.

As the summer wore on, the buzz about the festival was everywhere.  Nearly ALL my co-workers at the hotel quit their jobs, and began the trek to Bethel.   My old buddy Leon Jublinsky and I strapped 2 matrresses to the hood of my car (who ever heard of sleepting bags back then?  Not good little jewish boys!)

Had to ditch the car on 17B, even though we left for the festival in the middle of the night before the first day.  What should have taken 1 hour tops took 4 hours before the ditching.

The rest, as they say, is history.  Twas an event I'll never forget ... I'd love to forget the rain and the mud though.  And of course, after Hendrix was done, I headed over to Balcha at the Capitol Inn to do my laundry and to get a good meal and a real bathroom!

As before, let me apologize for those pix that I simply can't rotate on the blog ... it's their fault!

Hi Capital Inn-Mates!  Hope everything is great!

At Dr Neal (Flomenbaum) suggested, I'm trying to post some Catskill area photos that my wife Shelly and I took this week as we were just cruising around the area:  we went to the Woodstock site in Bethel (which I wholeheartedly recommend), Narrowsburg, Liberty, Loch Sheldrake, South Fallsburg, Woodbourne, and Fallsburgh.  While some of these pix will have little meaning to you, you can see the general condition of the area.

Bottom Line: if man built it, time has not been kind to it.  If God built it (eg. lakes, falls, etc), it's still beautiful. Why was this area basically abandoned is my big question.

Hope you get a kick out of these.  Stay well!        boynot domanski

PS- If you make it to the Woodstock Museum one day, be sure to look me and my message up on their computer!
